Existence theorems in linear chaos
Chaotic linear dynamics deals primarily with various topological ergodic properties of semigroups of continuous linear operators acting on a topological vector space. We treat the questions of the following type. Characterize which of the spaces from a given class support a semigroup of prescribed shape satisfying a given topological ergodic property. In particular, we characterize LBS-spaces (...
متن کاملNonseparable sampling theorems for two-dimensional signals
It is well-known that continuous time bandlimited signals can be sampled without creating aliasing if the sampling period is small enough. It is also known that if s(t) is a bandpass signal, the passbands of X ( n ) must be located properly for aliasfree maximal sampling. Similar situations arise in discrete time case. This paper addresses these issues for two-dimensional (2D) oneand two-parall...
متن کاملShell model for quasi-two-dimensional turbulence.
We discuss the possibility to introduce geometrical constraints in shell models of turbulence in order to mimic the turbulent dynamics that takes place in fluid layers with large aspect ratio. By using a scale-dependent set of coupling parameters, we are able to resolve both scales larger and smaller than a geometrical dimension of the flow. The proposed model is able to resolve with high accur...
متن کاملExistence of an $L^p$-solution for two dimensional integral equations of the Hammerstein type
In this paper, existence of an $L^p$-solution for 2DIEs (Two Dimensional Integral Equations) of the Hammerstein type is discussed. The main tools in this discussion are Schaefer's and Schauder's fixed point theorems with a general version of Gronwall's inequality.
متن کاملC-theorem for two dimensional chiral theories
We discuss an extension of the C-theorem to chiral theories. We show that two monotonically decreasing C-functions can be introduced. However, their difference is a constant of the renormalization group flow. This constant reproduces the 't Hooft anomaly matching conditions.
